The Best Waffles (GF+DF)

These waffles are easy to make, hearty, filling, nourishing, and the perfect texture - everything you need in a waffle! My favorite way to top waffles is with some yogurt, nut butter and fresh berries.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2-3 ripe bananas, mashed

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1-2 tbsp dairy free milk

  • 1/2 cup + 4 tbsp oat flour

  • 1/2 cup almond flour

  • 2 tbsp flax meal

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Optional: chopped walnuts, cinnamon, shredded coconut, chocolate chips, etc.

How to

  1. Mash your bananas and mix all the wet ingredients together

  2. Add in all the dry ingredients

  3. Heat your waffle iron

  4. Grease your waffle iron

  5. Spoon about 1/2 cup batter per waffle

  6. Cook until done!

  7. Repeat with remaining batter.

  8. Serve waffles with any toppings that sound good. I personally love frozen berries warmed up with some chia seeds mixed in to create a “jam" plus some yogurt. Adding some nut butter for some extra protein is always a good choice too!

  9. These waffles also freeze nicely.
